English professional football player Jadon Malik Sancho has been unveiled by Premier league football club Manchester United.

The club, Manchester United who unveiled Jadon Sancho on social media with a video captioned it
“This is his home.
This is where he belongs.
Jadon Sanctus United.”

In the video, he also confirmed the club as his home.

According to Jadon’s statement joining Manchester United is a dream come true and he can’t wait to perform excellently for the club at the Premier League.

I’ll always be grateful to Dortmund for giving me the opportunity to play first team football, although I always knew that I would return to England one day. The chance to join Manchester United is a dream come true and I just cannot wait to perform in the Premier League. This is a young and exciting squad and I know, together, we can develop into something special to bring the success that the fans deserve. I am looking forward to working with the Manager and his coaching team to further develop my game.”

The Red Devil’s manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer in his welcome speech said that Jadon epitomizes the type of players needed at the club and also pledged that Old Trafford will give him enough platform to display his talents and creativity.

Jadon epitomises the type of player I want to bring to the club, he is a forward player in the best traditions of Manchester United. He will form an integral part of my squad for years to come and we look forward to seeing him blossom. His goals and assists records speak for themselves and he will also bring tremendous pace, flair and creativity to the team.
“Old Trafford will give him the platform he needs to release his untapped talent and perform at the highest level. For a player of his age, Jadon has already achieved a great deal and showed the courage to go and prove himself abroad. We all look forward to welcoming Jadon to the squad as we prepare for the new campaign.”

Sancho, 21, scored 50 goals and registered 64 assists in four seasons with Borussia Dortmund. The England International was part of the squad that reached the final of Euro 2020.

Nigerian Super eagles captain Ahmed Musa has joined the Turkish Karagümrük from Kano Pillars.

The Super eagles Ahmed Musa unveiled this on his social media with a video of him signing a deal and at the end of the video he raised the Jersey of Karagümrü.

Recalled that he signed a comeback deal with Kano Pillars and his agreement includes a clause that allows him to leave when and if he can find a club in Europe.

He joins as an Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) elite player with the aim of boosting their image as well as helping Musa maintain his fitness as he continues his search for a European club.

“Anything that improves the image of Nigerian football is something that I strive to embark on and Kano Pillars holds a special place in my heart,” the former Leicester City player told BBC Sport Africa as he considered the deal.

“It’s the team that helped me become the professional footballer I am today, so this is more than just football but a very strong bond.”

Musa is keen to get in shape to play for the Super Eagles in the World Cup qualifiers that start in June.

US women basketball team strike D’Tigress

Monday 19 July 2021: The Nigerian national women basketball team on Sunday could not hold their own against their US counterparts as they lost 62-93 in a friendly at Las Vegas.

In the game arranged to prepare both sides for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics, the Americans were totally dominant of D’Tigress.

The Nigerian side were restricted to just 30.6 percent shooting during the game, while their foes shot 53.8 percent overall.

The American side also outscored Nigeria in all four quarters of the game, though only by one point in the third quarter.

Atonye Nyingifa led the scoring charts for Nigeria with nine points, while centre Elizabeth Williams scored four points.

Both teams will meet again very soon, in the group stage of the Olympics in Tokyo on July 27.
